Our College Experience students are on break this week, but it’s all hands on deck at the College Experience office. While the students are away, we continue to work on developing new programming and opportunities – and we have some exciting news!

The College Experience has been accepted as a non-profit in Global Giving’s March Accelerator Challenge! Global Giving is a crowd-funding website created especially for non-profits and organizations that improve our world. By teaming up with Global Giving, the opportunities to raise funds to continually improve our programming and to help more students to attend our program and achieve independence will be endless! But, like most great opportunities, there is a catch:

In order to become a permanent partner with Global Giving and to be featured on the website, we need to raise at least $5,000 from 40 unique donors between March 13th and March 31st! By unique, we don’t mean you’re artsy neighbor – what we mean is that at least 40 individuals and or businesses and organizations need to donate to our cause within the three week period.

We need your help!

In order to meet Global Giving’s challenge to raise $5,000 by March 31st, we need the help of our friends and supporters — like you!

How can people help?

It’s easy – the best thing that you can do is to share the link to our Global Giving page with your network. Your network is everyone you know – your family, your friends, your colleagues, even your dentist! If you believe in our mission to bring the college experience and independence to young adults with disabilities, please share our Global Giving page with the people you know. Here’s the link:

You can also help by giving what you can, if you can. Even ten dollars will help us meet our goal of collecting donations from 40 donors and will bring us one step closer towards becoming a permanent Global Giving partner.

How can you share our Global Giving page?

The challenge begins at 9am on March 13th – then our donation page will be live, ready to accept donations by credit card, PayPal, and most other major forms of payment. Beginning on March 13th, please share our link on your social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and email our link to those who you think might be able to share our challenge or give to the campaign. Every little bit really does help and brings us closer to our goal.

Thank you for your continued support of our program – we could not do what we do without our fantastic students, alumni, families and supporters!
