Celebrating 28 years of music, Albany’s signature free concert series premiered in the summer of 1990 with a performance by legendary folk artist Richie Havens, and has since grown into a staple of summer in the Capital Region. Showcasing a diverse lineup of big names, up-and-coming acts and the region’s most talented original artists, Alive at Five offers eight weeks of free, critically-acclaimed performances catering to nearly every taste.

For the 2017 Series, Alive at Five will be held at Jennings Landing with a rain location of the Corning Preserve Boat Launch.

June 8 – Let’s Be Leonard with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe

5:00pm-6:00pm – Let’s Be Leonard – Let’s Be Leonard is a rock ‘n roll jazz explosion out of Upstate NY that bursts at the seams of tight, lyrical pop ballads with a daredevilish, looney jam band quality reminiscent of Phish.

6:30pm-8:00pm – Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe – Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe is highly regarded as one of the best live bands on the planet. Karl, who now serves as the saxophonist in The Rolling Stones, is fresh off a tour with the legendary rock band that included the highest grossing concert festival of all time!
