Parent Orientation is scheduled for June and gives students, parents and service coordinators the chance to:
Meet their classmates
Listen to a parent and student perspective
Receive an article about the transition to college
Review the Student Handbook
Learn about the required medical documents and financial documents
Hear more about courses, week-long orientation and move-in dates
Student orientation is scheduled for mid-August. This week-long orientation will prepare students to begin the Fall semester. Students can expect to:
Move-in and set up their rooms
Meet their housemates and other classmates
Meet the staff
Learn the route from their apartment to campus and back
Become familiar with campus buildings and services
Register and review their schedule
Experience the bus and begin to learn how to ride independently
Review medical needs and medications with a nurse
Establish residential routines with their residential instructors
Earn independence time by completing beeper calls and walking trials
